A different kind of kitchen company
Beau Bijou exists because buying a kitchen should not mean being sold one. We put the customer — not a product range — at the centre of every decision.
Why Beau Bijou exists
After years inside the wider kitchen market, we saw the same pattern everywhere: heavy overheads, sales targets and showroom pressure shaping the advice customers were given. Beau Bijou was created to flip that model — a lean, design-led studio whose only job is finding the right kitchen for each customer.
Why independence matters
We are not tied to a single manufacturer or range. That means we can assess your brief first, then choose from vetted options according to quality, suitability, budget and service. The supplier follows the brief — the brief never follows the supplier.

Richard’s story
Richard Harker has spent his career in kitchen design and sales, learning exactly how suppliers price, build and deliver. That insider knowledge now works for you: straightforward advice, an eye for quality, and a refusal to recommend anything he would not put in his own home.
The name pays homage to our son, Beau — “Bijou” meaning jewel — a nod to the meticulous detail and quality I strive to deliver in every kitchen design.
Four principles. No small print.
Fair
Every recommendation is made on merit — quality, suitability and value for you.
Honest
If another route is genuinely better for you, we will tell you. That is a promise.
Transparent
Clear fees, itemised quotes and straight answers about what things cost and why.
Customer-first
We answer to you — not to a manufacturer, a franchise or a sales target.
How we offer strong value
Strong supplier relationships and combined order volume help us secure competitive pricing, and efficient overheads mean those savings reach you instead of funding a chain of showrooms. Value without cutting corners on quality.
What you might find elsewhere — and what we do instead
Elsewhere, the journey often starts with a product: a range to sell, a display to clear, a target to hit. Ours starts with you: needs before products, independent design, a vetted choice of suppliers, transparent guidance and support through to the finished kitchen.
See how the service works →Who you will deal with
You will work directly with our designers and support team — the same people from first call to finished kitchen. No hand-offs to a call centre, no disappearing salespeople.
National service, local roots
Design and supply support is available across the UK, fully remotely where needed. Our Hebden Bridge showroom and locally managed installation add a personal, physical dimension for customers nearby.
